Introduction to Corporate Finance

A one-day seminar introducing the essential aspects of corporate finance.  The programme will cover the theory of corporate finance but will rapidly relate the theory to the applied reality of corporate finance work.

By the end of the course, participants will:

  • be able to explain the essence of CAPM and why it matters
  • be able to explain how shareholder value is measured and describe its drivers
  • understand how WACC is calculated and have a sense of some of the difficulties encountered in selecting the input
  • understand why capital structure is important
  • have gained a sense of the different approaches used when valuing a corporate
