Financial Market Fundamentals

This programme provides a foundation level knowledge of the workings of the main financial markets, describing the function played by each of the debt (both long and short term), equity, and derivative markets.  The programme also describes the roles and objectives of the major players in the financial markets.

By the end of the course, participants will:

  • clearly understand the instruments of the debt, equity, and derivatives markets and their applications by banks and corporates,
  • be able to distinguish the essential difference between each market, and
  • be able to communicate more effectively with product specialists and clients.
